6IN allows the reader to take on the role of a Chinese government official who has been granted access to the private chat server of several young pro-democracy activists in Hong Kong. At the beginning of the story, the reader is encouraged by their superior to report any suspicious activity that could help them quell any further instances of protests. Examples of such suspicious activities that can be reported are details about the identity of the members of the chatroom or details about the possible locations for upcoming protests. After each conversation between the activists that the reader reads, they have the choice to report the conversation to their superior. Depending on the choices that they make and the details that they choose to tell their superior, differences in the plot occur which affect the narrative and the ending.
